First Notes Music Playgroup (ages 0-5) with Caregiver
(Ages 0–5)
First Notes is a 4 week mixed-age music and movement playgroup designed for children from babies through preschoolers and their caregivers.
Join us for a lively and engaging playgroup filled with fingerplays, songs, dancing, movement, and musical games—all designed to enrich and support early learning. Each session includes a musical storytime, giving children the chance to explore sound, rhythm, and musical patterns in a playful, hands-on way. This class nurtures key developmental skills such as coordination, listening, and social interaction, all while building a strong foundation for future music learning.
Each class includes hands-on exploration of age-appropriate instruments—like shakers, rhythm sticks, drums, and scarves—encouraging sensory play, creativity, and early ensemble skills. Older children model and lead while younger ones absorb and imitate, creating a rich and inclusive learning environment for all.
Caregivers are active participants, making music an enjoyable and shared experience which strengthens bonds and supports growth at every developmental stage.
We need at least 6 children enrolled to run the class. Tuition is $25, and just $5 for each additional sibling.
Start Date: Classes begin on Tuesday, October 7th, and continue weekly on the 14th, 21st, and 28th.
Time: 12:15-1:00
Location: The Leedy Grange Hall - 835 NW Saltzman Rd, Portland, OR 97229
