Class Description:
Piano Friends (Age 5+)
When: Mondays, 1:05–2:05 PM, beginning January 11
Class size: Limited to 4 students
Tuition: $160 monthly rate. All materials included (Books, handouts, binder)
Where: Christ United Methodist Church/ A Childs Way Preschool in Cedar Mill.
Piano Friends is a small group class that gives our youngest learners a playful, gentle first introduction to the piano. Designed for children who are still in PreK, classes are built around games, movement, and singing at the keyboard, so younger students build a love of music alongside their first piano skills.
Students work from the My First Piano Adventures method books. This Pre-reading approach covers note reading, rhythm patterns and playing technique for successful playing from the beginning. With just four students per class, every child gets plenty of time at the piano and personal attention.
Piano Friends moves at an age-appropriate pace and is a great stepping stone to our Group Piano program when your child is ready for a more accelerated pace.
Parent Participation: Parents play a vital role in establishing good practice habits at home. For this reason, parents/carers are required to come into the classroom for the last 10 minutes of class. During this time, parents can get the chance to become familiar with new material, review home assignments for me to model learning techniques used in this method.
Please note, if your child is coming directly from ACW classroom, their teacher will walk them to the music room at the end of their class and pick up will be from the Fireside Room.
